Experts have attributed slow personal development to the inefficiency of some information managers and office administrators.

The experts, who spoke at the National Institute of Office Administrators and Information Managers (NIOAIM) conference, said effective information management was essential to the survival of any business. organization right now, especially schools.

The theme of the conference was “Repositioning Office Managers and Information Management for Innovation, Sustainable Development and Global Competitiveness”.

The experts are the Head of Counseling and Human Development Studies Department at the University of Ibadan, Professor Oyesoji Aremu; Vice Chancellor of Lead City University, Ibadan, Prof. Remi Adeyemo; the president of the National Institute of Office Administrators and Information Managers, Dr. Tolulope Adenekan and others.

On his part, the head of the Department of Counseling and Human Development Studies at the University of Ibadan, Prof. Aremu, identified a lack of personal development for the ineffectiveness of some information managers and administrators. Office.

Aremu, who presented the main document at the inaugural conference, criticized the use of official information for personal gain.

He said 21st century information administrators and managers need to be continually upgraded to remain relevant and effective in the performance of their duties.

He said that now that technology has started to take over jobs that were once meant for humans, everyone who wanted to be relevant in their fields should now grow and make themselves relevant wherever they are.

He said, “The organization must embrace technology to stay in business. Technology has become a sine qua non of modern professional emancipation because of its enormous contribution to alleviating the human suffering caused by analog practices.

“In various contexts, technology has been called a ‘savior’ because of the role it plays in facilitating the simplicity, ease and speed of human activities. The dichotomy often seen between developed and developing countries, advanced and struggling economies is driven by technology.

“For office administrators and information managers to be part of e-Tech in the 21″ century, they must integrate seamlessly into it and take advantage of ongoing education and training, which a conference like this offers.”

Furthermore, the Vice Chancellor of Lead City University, Ibadan, Prof. Adeyemo said that effective information management is essential for the survival of any organization at present, especially schools.

The VC said: “A university, polytechnic, for example, needs a framework for its information systems to adapt to instantaneous changes in student enrollments, general changes in tuition fees and balances , occasional faculty data changes, etc. Information management strategies influence the relationships between information, technology and society at large.
